Chemical Safety Awareness
Our Chemical Safety Awareness training is designed to provide those who use hazardous chemicals, supervisors and health and safety practitioners, with the knowledge required to safely handle, store, and dispose of hazardous substances. Compliance with labelling, interpretation of Safety Data Sheets and understanding the GHS pictograms is essential.
The course can be delivered on-site or in a local training facility, or through a TEAMS meeting conference call by one of our remote instructors.

Hazardous Substances in the workplace
The implementation of safe systems of work involving hazardous chemicals, safe transportation and storage procedures are a fundamental to the provision and maintenance of a safe working environment.
Chemical hazards include irritants, toxic, corrosive, explosive and flammable substances, and carcinogens.

Course Modules Include:
- Identification of hazardous substances that exist in the workplace.
- Potential health effects of hazardous substances.
- Understanding ways that chemicals can enter the body.
- Correct labelling and interpretation of labels, Safety Data Sheets and GHS pictograms.
- Understand principles of hazard prevention and control measures
- Application of hazard control measures.
- Safe storage, handling and transportation of hazardous substances.
- Correct selection and use of PPE
- Emergency response to spills and chemical exposure.
- Understanding of employer and employee responsibilities.
- Option for Spill Kit Practical & Control Measures
